Southeast ALASKA-AUGUST 2012
When my friend, Curt Farge , asked me to arrange a trip to S.E. Alaska, I decided it was time to revisit my friend, Jim Leslie (owner of Alaska Waters tour company out of Wrangell, AK) for fun at the LeConte' Glacier and at AnAn Creek Bear Observatory. We had only 4 days to maximize in Alaska (and our other friend, Ron Larsen, joined us). So I decided on a day at LeConte' and then the second day with Don Holmes out of Petersburg for whale watching. And then finally, the last two full days at An An. Short, but productive trip (and also got to see my friend and excellent pro photographer, Ivan Semonek. And with the exception of a complete "grey-out" and significant rain for the whale watch, the mostly flat light afforded us with good Bear and eagle viewing opportunities.
